Although It totally depends on what users want or value, I prefer using a laptop computer to a desktop computer. The reasons for supporting my opinion are as follows.
As one of the most important reason, laptop computers are mobile while desktop computers are stayed put in one place. For example, in a situation at universities or colleges. I’m a student in a polytechnic college specializing in Civil Engineering. The professors often assign us huge amounts of homework related to my major such as researching on how to maintain the infrastructures like bridges and dams, road pavement and so on. Then, what I got by researching need to be summarized into a few pieces of paper. That takes much time to make them well-organized. So, I sometime have to work on them on the way to commute or go home. Without any laptop computers, I could not get down to them, which means that the quality of the paper I finished would not be much worse.
Moreover, the cost of them are more affordable than desktop computers. Those who choose a laptop computer can save their money approximately three times or so compared to a desktop computer. Although the ability or speed of processing the computers have on their own is completely different, I chose a laptop computer when looking for computers, because I don’t need utterly high processing ability for computers that much. It can be useful for students like me if it has the minimum level of performance for handling some apps such as Word, Excel or PowerPoint operated by Microsoft. Thus, the lower cost for laptop computers than desktop computers is reasonable enough.
In the final analysis, I would rather use a laptop computer than a desktop computer.
